I
wrote a lot as a kid. I began a new story (or 3 or 4) every school year,
but rarely finished them. I finally finished one when I was 16. It was
about ninjas. It was really bad.
Communion,
my first completed novel worth publishing, will be released October 1st. I have
that and many other works coming down the pipeline. I plan to be writing for many years to come.

Interview:
a Rafflecopter giveaway
1. What inspired you to write this book?
I imagined an African-American
vampire who didn’t get along with other African-Americans, who hoped he would
have better luck with the vampire race.
This original character was too soft, timid, and emotionally weak to be
interesting. Les, who this
character originally evolved into, is more conflicted about his change to
dhampirism yet is also aggressive and arrogant at times in the way he treats
other people.
2. What characters do you connect with most?
Of course I connect easily with
Les. But I also see a lot of
myself in Brent, the comic relief dhampir of the group.
3. What's your favorite book-turned movie?
The Perks of Being a Wallflower
by Stephen Chbosky
4. If you could be best friends with one of your characters, who
would it be?
Roman. That guy can make a hell of a drink and we can use his house
for parties.
5. Can you tell us about any other books you're writing?
Sure, I’ve begun planning
out a prequel for Communion titled, “The Hemocide.”
Also, a shorter story called
Sparkle, which will be available in April.
“Yes, they’re vampires. Yes, they sparkle. Yes, they’re b*d*ss.”
6. What do you do in your spare time?
Besides write? I read and… OH! I do other stuff too! I’m a huge football fan and I’m in
multiple fantasy football leagues each year.
7. Who's your inspiration?
Donald Glover, the actor from the
TV show Community. He’s talented in practically everything but still presents
himself as an upstanding, intelligent guy.
8. If you were stranded on a desert island which character do
you want by your side?
Camellia Rosario. Highly intelligent and resourceful, yet
easy on the eyes. Although she is
a tad bit crazy…
9. Team Edward or Jacob?
Team Jacob. I always prefer Vampires to Werewolves
but DEM ABS…
10. Team Peeta or Gale?
Team Peeta. Nice guys finish last far too
often.
11. What are you reading now?

Thank you so much for having this giveaway!
This is a fascinating concept; a dhampir turning people. I cannot wait to read this book. I love paranormal books and this is a creative look at a very often tired genre. Thanks for the giveaway. michelle_willms(at)yahoo(dot)com
